Since being home on medical leave, I was able to take photos around my town and appreciate so many different aspects through photography. From flowers to street art to sushi... I will cherish these images! This image of my colorful sushi stood out to me. I took it from a high perspective and it did an fantastic job at displaying the complementary colors. The red sushi and green wasabi and the orange sushi on top of the navy blue plate... I love this image because the colors are so vibrant and expressive!
The most challenging part of this assignment was taking various images without repeating the concepts. I had a ton of wonderful photos but they fell into the same categories and I found that other categories were much more challenging to photograph and lacking.
In the future I will plan on taking photos of the concepts that are more difficult first to focus on that aspect, and then move onto taking photos that come easier to me. I also will aim to take photos for my assignments multiple different times in more settings to create more variety in my images.

" Wow this photo is so clear and detailed. The longer I look at it, the more aspects of the photos I discover... such as the tiny lines on the leaves and how the light green seems to almost glow in the light! The saturation and coloring really emphasizes these components. I love how zoomed in the photo is, it allows the viewer to appreciate the plant from such a close distance which isn't always possible!"

I just wanted to say that you did an awesome job with this challenge! These are beautiful photos and I enjoy every single one of them! I was specifically drawn to the black-and-white photo you did! I enjoy how you included your friend in the photo because this photo makes me feel warm and fuzzy. It seems like the photo captured a wholesome moment and I think the elements such as the color, exposure, and contrast work well because the light from the sun creates the perfect aura to capture that photo. However, I want to give some suggestions and you don't have to take them but I thought I'd share them in case. I would suggest that next time you shoot something like this maybe point your camera at a straighter angle as the photo looks like it's tilting a bit. Overall, I think you did an awesome job even though there's room for improvement!

I love all of the different colors that you were able to capture in this single photo! The colors are very eye-catching and having them on a plain background really does allow the bright coloring of the sushi to pop. The focus on the photo is also really well done, because it shows the detailing of each part of the sushi. I think the little bit of garnish on some of the pieces really proves that this picture is so eye-drawing. I also love that you were able to get creative and give us a piece of your home town. Beautifully done!

This photo is amazing and a great representation of the complementary colors technique. All of the color variants are catching my eye and I love that they are against a darker background, allowing the colors to come out. I also like the way that the sushi was displayed on the plate. I am not sure if catching the orientation of the specific sushi pieces was a part of your plan, but it worked out perfectly. It shows organization in the photo, while also keeping the photo fun and colorful. Great photo Jessica!
Mia Baird I really love the way that you've captured the complementary colors of so many different types of sushi together. The combination of the lighter and brighter colored sushi on the dark navy background also really draws my eye to each piece of sushi and the details of them. I almost feel as though the complementary and vibrant colors are as nice to view as the sushi must be to taste. Thank you for sharing a piece of your hometown and great job at capturing a memory alongside your image.

I really love this picture! I think it's amazing that you were able to find multiple categories just in this single picture, like the high perspective, complementary colors, and background control. I think photographing the sushi on a dark, plain surface really makes the colors pop! If you had taken this picture from any other angle or perspective, the colors would not have been as eye catching. Amazing picture!
